Wakefield

To fans of English literature Wakefield is known as the location of The Wakefield Master who wrote mysterious plays here in the Elizabethan era. For the rest of us today the city is known for the Hepworth Gallery, Yorkshire Sculpture Park and the National Coal Mining Museum.

It’s got much more than this to offer however. There’s plenty of great outdoor activities dotted all around the city from Pugney’s Country Park with many water based activities to the ruins of Sandal Castle.
